Although, 2 under 2 wasn’t the original plan, there is so much to love about having children close in age.
As my pregnancy progressed I lit up with excitement when parents eagerly shared the benefits of having kids so close together. Whether your children are close in age by choice or by surprise, there is so much to enjoy. Here is what I learned:
Built In Best Friend
Once your youngest can sit up, it will be never ending playtime for the 2 of them. My oldest is already excited to greet and fawn over his baby brother. I know once Baby Kezie is ready to play there will be no worries as long as we work to avoid feelings of jealousy. I imagine them sitting at their cute toddler table (found here) and working on a new painting for mommy. Or just playing in their awesome ball pit (found here).
You Are Already In Baby Mode
You’re a pro at diaper changes and get to pass the diaper stage all at once. We keep our favorite diaper pail on each level of the house and look forward to one day never having it around again. Another plus is that the Goz is not fully potty trained just yet, no worries about him possibly regressing. The big change of another child in the home can sometimes bring anxiety to the older children. Luckily for us this isn’t the case so it’s full steam ahead for the both of them.
They Don’t Know Any Different
It’s hard to admit now, but the reason I cried after getting the positive pregnancy test was my concern for my 1st born. I irrationally thought that it was far too early to have another baby around, taking love and attention from my cupcake.
Now that Baby Kezie is here, I look at it as a blessing. Neither will remember a life without their brother in it, and that’s beautiful

You Still Have All Your Baby Items Around
One of my top reasons for having kids close together is recycling all of our gently used baby stuff before they have time to get dusty in storage. Clothes, shoes, toys, carriers, blankets.
Now we get to wrap our newborn in the Baby K’Tan Breathable Swaddle Blanket. Since my little nugget is a summer baby, we try to stay conscious of him overheating. The breathable mesh material puts us all at ease while swaddling Kezie. Big brother Goz is even able to use it as a lightweight toddler blanket for bedtime.

What a beautiful family… congrats on your new bundle of joy! Your sons are so handsome!
I totally agree with all of this! My first two were two under two and now I just had my third so I have three kids three and under. It can be exhausting at times but I’m excited for all three of my boys to be close in age and have each other.
I have two under one and I agree with all of this! Very well put. I wouldn’t have it any other way! I have three 3 and under and this applies to the older two (two years apart) as well. Love your blog!
So cute pictures! I agree to all the four points. Have a wonderful weekend ahead.
That is exactly my goal ❤❤ I have a 3 month old and im excited to get pregnant later on just to give her a best friend. And like you stated, they will not know life without each other. ❤❤❤❤❤
Such precious pictures! My girls are 22 months apart and I can totally relate to everything you listed. There are occasional challenges, but I’m really glad we had them so close to each other.
I had 2 under 2 and loved it. I’m currently due with our third and my first won’t be three until March 15th. We aren’t necessarily trying for super close kiddos but we have chosen to allow God to plan our family and so far His timing has been beautiful. 💚
Wow, I was happy to stumble across this blog because I can definitely relate! I too am a PA-C with two under two haha… I didn’t know how to feel at first, but was also took it as a blessing. My boys will be so close and the oldest quickly embraced his big brother role! Many blessings to you and your family.
