If you follow me on Instagram (@Sincerelyonyi) then I’m sure you’re aware about how much I love doing my (almost) weekly IG Lives with you guys. It’s been an awesome time to authentically connect and just chat about almost EVERYTHING under the sun. I’ve had @Tolaniav on to chat about all things Black girl hair care, I’ve had Chioma of @Dureevents (my former wedding planner) on to talk about Nigerian/Nigerian American relations and how it correlates with Black Panther.
For the Month of April, we’ve been talking about one of my biggest passions: Becoming a PA! Thank you to @gatorpa_ and @sammiesupageek for coming on and talking about our experiences with CASPA. When I was trying to figure out how to become a PA back in 2008-2010, I had very limited resources. I hadn’t met a PA, let alone one that looked like me. My goal is to make sure no one else has to feel the same way. That every male or female of color who has even the faintest aspiration to go into medicine knows exactly what a PA is, what we are able to do and how they can get there. I’ll be hosting more Lives and giveaways in the coming months that center around the CASPA application.
This is why I was so excited to head to the University of Texas at Austin to speak to the Black Health Professions Organization and share a piece of my journey with them. It was seriously an awesome time and I can’t wait to do it again! I came into a room with only 1 person considering becoming a PA and left with more than 2 handfuls of students ready to put in that work! Medical School or Nursing are not the ONLY options.

Check out all the fun we had below but please bare with me as the quality of the video may make you cringe a little. I wanted to make sure everyone has access to the basics. If you have any further questions, please try to catch me during one of my Instagram lives (my DMs are becoming a little too much to handle) OR you can schedule a 90 minute consultation with me for a very small fee where we can discuss all things about your pre-applicant/applicant profile such as prerequisites, GPA, and personal statement, I’ll also answer any questions and strategize on how to get you into PA school.
