Today we have a guest post from Monica Ogbonnaya, Chemical Engineer and Weave Enthusiast.
I have been a fan of Queen Weave Beauty for a while and wanted to switch up my style just in time for the summer. In the past I sported the deep wave hair and this time I looked for tighter bouncy curls. I ordered 3 bundles of 22” and a 5×5 closure of tight curly. This curl pattern is bomb! QWB offers 9 different textures but I liked the tight curly because it was a little kinkier and tighter than a standard deep wave hair. I would definitely say this hair mimics a natural 3c texture.
Shedding is very minimal and I haven’t experienced a lot of tangling at all, even in the nape area but I do wet and detangle the hair regularly. This hair is also of a medium luster so it has a very natural look. Truthfully, I like these curls, but tight curly hair is definitely high maintenance. When I first installed the hair, I struggled to find the perfect regime to keep my hair looking right. This texture is a bit kinky and needs a lot of moisture. Fortunately, I found that when using water, Cantu leave-in conditioner, Auntie Jackie’s curl defining cream, and a paddle brush, the curls are well defined and juicy. I also found that the closure was kinkier than the bundles which made for a larger style but I loved these bundles paired with the QWB deep wave closure. Some of you may be interested in the frontal and can find the link for it here.
I ordered 3 bundles of the same length but I would suggest slightly varying lengths to give the hair a natural layered look. I loved the space and freedom the 5×5 closure gave me and would definitely recommend it when you don’t want to wear a full frontal. I can’t wait to try out more textures in the future.
