Hey Family, when it comes to summer hair, I’ve tried it all. From blunt bobs to curly fros. Although I love my braiding hair, my favorite protective style will always be affordable lace front wigs I can easily manage on the go. If you want to know a secret, it’s key to my balanced life. When it comes to hairstyles I like to play it safe but summer is all about color. So this time around, I decided to try something new with these luscious Brazilian Wavy bundles from Her Hair Company.
I’ve never gone this light with my highlights but I was inspired by fellow Nigerian blogger, Coco Bassey of Millennielle. A few months ago she rocked this sweet fringed look with peekaboo highlights. I thought they would be awesome to try for the summer.
I had my trusted wig slayer create and color this unit because as you know, life as become way too hectic for me to continue to make my own wigs. I’m still here to give you all of the wig tips you need.
Today’s Wig tip:
Tinting the lace to match your skin tone is a must, especially if you’re of a darker complexion like myself. Tinting allows the lace to appear more seamless against your skin. No need for baby hairs to cover the line of demarcation here. I usually tint my wig after bleaching using a cap full of dark brown hair dye in a bowl of boiling water.
Her Hair Company
This wig was made with 4 bundles of 20″ Brazilian Wavy and 1 16″ frontal from Her Hair Company. There was absolutely no shedding so far so I’m glad I didn’t even bother to seal the wefts. The 13X4″ frontal is made of quality lace that is sturdy but soft. If you are a wig enthusiast like myself, you may notice some lace frontals or closures that feel rough against your skin. This can pose potential damage to your hair! Thank you Her Hair company for making sure to maintain quality at affordable prices. That’s exactly why #LadiesLoveHer . Since I’ve become too
lazy busy to make my own wigs like before, I had my stylist create this look for me. The wig arrived ready to go so all that was left for me to do was cut my bangs. Who else gets nervous cutting their bang? I was over here sweating bullets!
After cutting my fringe I was going for a bed head/ beachy look. Let me know what look you want me to try out next.
