As a Nigerian-American mother of two young boys, I am always on the lookout for ways to nurture their sense of self and help them develop a strong connection to their African heritage. I can personally attest to how Highlife music was a staple in our house as a kid and I still associate many fond moments with my family to those uplifting tunes. Fast forward to present day and Afrobeats stay on repeat in our home.
